This work celebrates the philological contributions of American classicists and students of the Greek Bible since the last quarter of the nineteenth century. In doing so, it assists both groups in recognizing their mutual interests and problems. Representative areas of study in which philological inquiry came to expression are examined, with special reference given to basic resources and questions of methodology, including the production of grammatical and lexical works.
