In the mid-1980’s, Dr. Leora Kuttner spearheaded a pioneering pain management project for children with cancer. In this video, No Fears, No Tears, eight courageous children with cancer, ages 3 to 12, demonstrate ways in which the natural abilities of the mind can be enlisted to help ease physical pain. With the support of parents and caregivers, they show how hypnosis, imagery, distraction and visualization methods, and breathing techniques make the disease itself, as well as the long series of painful tests and treatments, bearable.
“A powerful film, especially for pediatricians and pediatric nurses who have experienced the lonely task of inflicting pain in the service of preserving life. A must for all pediatric physicians, nurses. and clinicians in training who work with sick children.” - Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics
