Participants will learn the basics of rigging, points of sail, sailing maneuvers, safety and recovery in a safe fun environment. Certified Instructors lead a variety of land and water based activities designed to promote comfort and independence in the boat. Sailors will receive US SAILING Little Red Sailing Certification Books at the completion of the course.

The best way to advance your boat-handling skills is to learn from others. This camp will refine the sailor's on-the-water skills, boat handling skills and introduce advanced equipment. Campers will also learning beginning racing skills including starts, tactical tips, and winning strategies.

Climbing and Sailing Camp (Ages 10-14)

In partnership with Petra Cliffs, this week long camp offers adventure and challenges on the water and off. Campers will experience Petra Cliffs climbing center, rope course challenges, and fun activities related to climbing in addition to learning and improving on the fundamental skills of sailing small boats on Lake Champlain.

Skateboarding and Sailing Camp (Ages: 8-15)

If you like to skateboard and be out on the water this is the camp for you. Spend your mornings at the Skate Park perfecting your skills and in the afternoon learn how to sail small boats at the Sailing Center. Contact Burlington Parks and Recreation to register -- www.enjoyburlington.org

Art and Sailing Camp -- NEW! (Ages: 8-10)

This week-long camp introduces campers to the sport of sailing as well as creating beautiful art projects inspired by Lake Champlain. Campers will learn how to use watercolor paints and other fluid materials to create landscapes, and lakes capes. In the afternoon campers will continue their exploration on water by learning the basics of sailing.

Sea Kayaking and Sailing Camp (Ages: 11-15)

This week-long program will introduce participants to the joys of both sailing and open water kayaking, with an emphasis on fun. During the morning hours you will learn the basics of rigging, points of sail, and sailing maneuvers. The afternoon will be spent paddling sea kayaks and exploring Lake Champlain shores. In addition to the basics, sessions will include capsize recovery and small-craft safety. Offered in partnership with PaddleWays Sea Kayak Touring.

Scuba and Sailing Camp -- NEW! (Ages 12-16)

Experience the lake from above and below the water! This camp gives you the chance to enjoy the scenery on the surface of Lake Champlain and check out the neat, aquatic life below. In partnership with the Waterfront Diving Center you will learn basic snorkeling and scuba skills in the morning and then explore the excitement of sailing in the afternoon. This is a great opportunity to see if scuba diving and sailing are the sports for you. **Campers with asthma, diabetes, and epilespy are unable to participate in this camp.**

Early Drop-off and Late Pickup This year the Community Sailing Center is offering early drop off at 8am and late pick-up at 5:30. We will continue all the fun land and water-based activities that have occurred during camp! Early Drop-off fee: $30/week -- Late Pickup fee: $45/week
